With the burgeoning film industry in South Africa and while we are on the precipice of a film movement, we are missing an importance piece - film criticism.

The road film seems like a genre perfect for South African film, however, there have not been many that fit into the genre. Some that have done the genre well include Susters, Pad Na Jou Hart and White Wedding.

In my quest to watch more South African films, I have been noticing that there has been a rise in South African horror. And one day people are probably going to write long research papers on it but for now, I just wanted to speculate a little.
